Support Songbird

Songbird Concerts began with a simple belief:

When a song is given the space to breathe, it has the power to connect people in lasting ways.

Founded in 2011 by Steve St. Cyr and inspired by the legendary Bluebird Café in Nashville, Songbird was created as a place where storytelling and song could take center stage—where listeners came not just to hear music, but to truly experience it.

In 2024, Steve passed the Songbird baton to Jenny Heim and John Wendland, carrying the spirit of Songbird forward while honoring the foundation on which it was built.

Each Songbird Concert is intentionally intimate. Four singer-songwriters gather in the round, swapping songs and stories in a listening-room environment designed to remove distractions and invite presence.

There’s no barroom noise, no competing conversations, just voices, guitars, and moments that land because the room is listening. What unfolds is something rare: a shared experience where every lyric matters and every story finds its way home.

At its heart, Songbird Concerts exists to serve both artists and community. Music is not treated as background or spectacle, but as a cultural thread that brings people together across generations.

These evenings create space for emerging and established artists alike, while offering audiences a chance to slow down, lean in, and connect; both with the music and with one another.

Songbird Concerts is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, allowing us to steward this mission with transparency and care.

Our nonprofit status enables us to reinvest directly into artist compensation, production, and the sustainability of live, acoustic music in St. Louis. Donations are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law, and every contribution helps keep this experience accessible, intentional, and artist-focused.

When you support Songbird Concerts, you’re not just funding a concert. You’re sustaining a space where stories are shared, songs are honored, and community gathers around something real.
